Thank you so much to the individual who has made it impossible for me to participate any more!

Why Jacqui?

Jacqui, I knew the thread would possibly contain some graphic info from a news report, so I chose not to read it. Couldn't you do the same, rather than read it, knowing you'd get upset and then complain about it. M.

Jacqeline, I do know how you feel, i must admit i get upset just reading the title of these threads and cannot bring myself to read further into the posting, But, Everyone, on Gr has the right to contribute, and although i myself would prefer not to see these threads, i also realise that alot of people are more able to handle these delicate and atrocious subjects and would like to be informed. I am afraid us ' over sensitive' types ( and i use this phrase very loosely) just have to skim over these titles and get on with reading things more approriate for us. This is the same for all of us on here, we have a choice to read what we like and a right to post what we like, within the guidlines of GR and commonsense prevailing. Its a tough world, and i always shudder when reminded of it, with sujects like these, but thats just me. :))

Jacqueline I don't look at threads of that sort, providing the title makes it clear what its about of course! But I know what you mean, I can't see what threads like that achieve except to upset everyone who reads them. Bev x

I do put threads up from time to time concerning Animal welfare. why? because thats what concerns me, I dont think however that I have not given a warning before hand, Im involved in various things concerning Animals and some people like to know the outcome or if there are petitions, There are lots of threads I dont like, but stay away from E.G abortion, but I would not complain about it, Everyone has their causes, and mine are mainly Animals, Im sorry if you find this offensive but I would advice you not to view. I do understand how you feel Jackie as I have to leave the room if any sort of thing is being shown on tv. But on the other hand, we cant all turn away, the animals rely on us to help them, we have been given that responsibility and if we dont discuss that sort of terrible crime then things may not move on for these dear creatures.

Jacqueline, Nobody is more upset or sickened by animal abuse than I am, which is why I chose not to read beyond the thread title. If you feel strongly about this issue, you should have ignored the thread too. This is an open forum, and we all have to put up with threads about subjects we don't like, not just animal abuse. Some people choose to take issue with the posters of those threads and start arguments, some just debate relevant issues, but nobody forces them to participate in those threads. Please use your own judgement in future and, for your own sake, if you know a subject is likely to upset you, leave it well alone. CB >|<

Just because you don't want to see or hear about it doesn't stop it happening. Some people feel the need to discuss these things so they can get a sense of 'doing something about it'. I wouldn't participate, but I won't stop other people talking about it. Same with anything. There are threads about every subject under the sun on this board, and that is a good thing. It means people can talk to like-minded people about the things that they care about. We don't all want to talk about the same things, and those things we don't, we should just ignore. Yes, it can be upsetting for some people to see, but if you don't want to see it, don't look.

Jacqueline As you haven't come back on the thread I would like to know if you are OK? I do hope so. Pat x

I have seen threads that upset me, and avoided them, or read and not added. But like in real life if nothing is discussed...nothing is done, the board is like life....a bitch at times, but it is up to each of us to control our own viewing. I mainly avoid things on here I wont like, but in real life you can't keep side stepping, or one day the bubble will burst and the pain will be too much. Sadly if no threads were added that might offend, the board would die, as everyone doesn't like something. This is in no way meant as criticism of this thread, just a general observation on life.

Linda, That is really a nice message you have written to Jacqueline. It would be a shame after you changing the title when asked that you remove the thread, surely that wouldn't be necessary. I think you have done more than some would have and it surely is enough. Pat x
