I thought I would let you know how Tigger is doing. My daughter went to the hospital to see her last night and the nurse said that she would be coming home today.. strange I thought haven't been told that. So today we had appointment with the vet. who showed us the xray's , she had a broken pelvis and a dislocated hip, also her eye is really bad now, puss is terrible, they think that they have all the fly eggs out, but she said ( sorry if this upsets anyone) the wound inside her leg had maggots and hopefully that is cleared...but she cannot rule out brain damage.. I really don't mind if thats the case..as long as she comes home.. She isn't coming home today as she hasn't done any business and they have to empty her bladder and is also on painkillers every eight hours.. The vet took us into her and I called Tig, her head lifted and she meiowed at us. I got her to eat a few pieces of meat, but she still is covered in mud, asked if i could try and clean her, but the nurse said she would.. Well the vet wants her in for a few more days to see if she can do without pain killers, she has tried to drag her self across the cage. When she does come home she has to be in a cage for 4-6 weeks( if they operate she would be better a lot quicker, but the vet is trying to keep cost down and is sure it can heal in time) but the cage is so big nearly as big as my sofa, she will be the main attraction in the living room. Thankyou All again for you kind messages, it does help... Still very angry that someone has hit her and driven away...if I were to catch them...grrrr. Pat

can you buy a second hand playpen or travel cot from the local paper, would do the job just as well i'd have thought, a bit less ''in your face'' than a cage

Pat, hope Tigger continues to improve. Although sight of maggots is not nice they generally feed on dead flesh, so to a certain extent they may have done the cat a favour. Maggots are used in medicine. It won't be easy keeping her inactive but it can be done, we know someone who did it with a dog (dachshund) Our cat is having her stitches out tomorrow after having part of her thyroid removed. We had a terrible two weeks thinking we were going to lose her, much more than just a cat. Thinking of you and Tigger Ros

Cly had three weeks in a cage after her tail was amputated. Once the infection calmed down, she was less impressed with the collar she had to wear to stop her washing. It will feel a short time once Tigger has endured it. Remember that cats like to look their best and wash for comfort too. When Tiger is feeling less sore, you might want to help with some gentle brushing. Really feeling for you right now. Cly's brother, who gave up shoulder sitting as a kitten, has just climbed up and drapped himself round my shoulders. He must be picking up vibes. I shall send his good wishes too. Love from Vicky (and Tepes)

Hi Pat Really pleased to hear that Tigger is making reasonable progress :O) And so lovely that she responded when you called to her - brought a lump to my throat that did ........ Ozzy will be fine with her - cats always sense when something is wrong and I'm sure you won't have too much of a problem - he will leave her be once he has had a little sniff and investigation. Best wishes & positive thoughts coming your way :O) xxx
