A total of 2,012 people were polled on their beliefs on the supernatural. Over two thirds (68%) said they believe in the existence of ghosts and spirits. Just over half (55%) said they believe in the existence of a God. Some 26% believe in UFO's, 19% in reincarnation and 4% in the mythical Loch Ness Monster. The survey found 12% believe they have actually seen a ghost. Just over three quarters, (76%) said that reality TV shows and films like The Blair Witch Project have helped convince them spooks and ghouls really exist.

I wonder why they stopped at 2012 - is it because 2013 would just be too spooky? Has anyone you know ever admitted to taking part in one of these surveys? And why is it that every Halloween out comes some of related survey concerning ghosts, spooks etc? Dont often hear of anything similar on say 11th July!! Jacqui

Missed this bit off: The poll was carried out in advance of Hallowe'en by entertainment retailer ChoicesUK. Spokesman David Rich said: 'We want to believe in ghosts more than ever.'

I believe in Ghosts and God but not sure which one I believe in more! And I agree, that Most Haunted programme seems to just be a load of hyped up rubbish! My opinion of course! Marie
