Apparently according to an item on the Mirrors website MH has been outed as a fake by Ciaron O'Keeffe. The resident sceptic.....What do you think....Diane

i was shocked read it in the mirror used to watch it all the time until i found these boards lol lynnx

I used to watch it all the time too. Think Derek was going too ott with it all and thats why hes gone. He may have his own show, but I think this may have been done because of that. Ciaron was obviously fed up with the pretence.

I've never taken that programme seriously. In the 1980's I used to work with a magician and his wife, who did 'magic of the mind' - and that's when I saw this sort of thing in a different light, so to speak. Out of curiousity, last night I watched part of it - and when Yvette was in a theatre, trying to get the 'ghost' to show itself, nothing happened after any prompting. Surprise, surprise. I would be intrigued to see Derek going back to a place where he'd been before, just to hear what the 'spirit' told him; see if it was the same as last time. No apologies for being a complete sceptic, lol.

Hi Diane This does not surprise me in the least. When we saw Derek live it was a total contrast to what you see on TV. All in our party agreed that he is an excellent showman, but as for mediumship, it was a sad pathetic attempt. Totally laughable. Unknown to us there were various friends from other spiritualist churches in the area sitting in the theatre. They had all said the same thing. You see far better mediums in the churches, and it is things like this which give spiritualism and genuine mediumship a bad name. Having been a spiritualist for most of my 42 years I reckon I can spot a good 'un at 100 paces. I've seen enough of them in my time. Sorry Derek ain't one of them in my opinion. Dianne xx

Haven't seen the article but personally I think there's a bit of both to the show. It started out good but as time went on they began to run out of ideas and I think felt the need to justify their existence - hence more bizarre claims etc etc. I think MH is a victim of its own success and has to deliver something sensational in order to please a growing band of fans who expect to be entertained. Shame really. I am sure some of the things that come out of the shows are genuine but these days its hard to see the real for the hype. I've also noticed that the body language and tone of voice Yvette uses with Derek has changed - she used to hang on every word he said but now she seems to be quite critical about some of the things he suggests and almost bored at some of the points he makes. It seems to me that she is very aware that he is not always being honest now. I am sure he has inate ability, but he's allowed himself to become a tv personality/celebrity more than a medium and that has got in the way of his real talent. Angela

It will be interesting to see if anything is said on the live show tonight and also what this new show of Dereks is like, I saw a trailer and it looked pretty much the same as what he does on MH.

i didnt get hte imirror today , usually buy the mirror and hte sun, missed the report on that , i like the psycic section too

I watched the first 30 minutes or so tonight. A very different atmosphere to usual. Ciaron is on the programme, again quite strange how they are acting. Could mean either the sh*t has hit the fan or they are being extra careful in what they say or allege, no doubt it will all come out eventually.
