we have wandoo broadband and quite a few times recently I have not been able to connect to the internet because it says 'no dial tone'. If I turn the puter off and start again that sometimes solves it but today it has taken hours!!! Does anyone else have this problem or have we just got a bad line?? Gloria x |

Thanks, Glad to know that I am not on my own. Sent an e-mail to them a couple of days ago but haven't had a reply, which is annoying. Gloria x |

Thanks Jill, I thought it was only me, really glad it happens to other people as well. Not good though because when I went onto Broadband 'they' assured me there would be no trouble, instant access, everything whoosh. Gloria xx |

Couldn't get on at all this morning so rang Wanadoo. They said it was the phone extension which I have trailing up stairs, they are not good. So I have dragged the whole lot down to the kitchen so I can put it directly into the aerial socket and here I am. Hope this has solved it but we shall see. Just thought it might help those others with the same problem, no doubt you are going to tell me you all have your puter straight into the aerial and not trailing about like mine. Gloria x |

Hi Lisa, this has been getting gradually worse for the past few weeks and the guy at Wanadoo says the 'wire' trailing up the stairs has got weaker, due to wear and tear. I wouldn't know where to start taking all the software off. When it started being silly at first I used to turn everything off and then back on again and it worked for a while. Many a time though it would disconnect itself whilst I was on it-----hoping it was the 'trailing wire'. But I am not full of hope. Gloria x |

we are on tiscali and since may we have complained about the connection. every day we lose it and in the evenings it goes off at about 7.40, it often takes a couple of hours to restart and then its for a matter of mins. last time i rung them i said that until it was fixed i was not going to pay, there answer to that was 'you cant do that'. I dont see why i should pay for a service that is unavaliable 90% of the time. and when i do phone up 'technical help' I get some bloke on the phone who thinks putting me on hold will rectify the situation! corrina |

They sound a bundle of laughs. I wonder if it was because we are in a rural area. I get really frustrated at it, and when I ring technical help, they are really good at making me feel stupid and its all my fault. Gloria x |

Well that didn't last long. Thought I would test it to see if I could get back on---stupid woman--- of course I couldn't. Got back to yet another Wanadoo technician who suggests I swop my filter for the one in the lounge, whilst he is telling me this ''on it came again''. Techno man thinks swopping the filter is going to solve it. Going to try that now. I won't hold my breath. Gloria x |

Just an update on this. I dragged the whole lot downstairs, swopped the filter for the one in the lounge, and dare I say it 'bingo' it has been working fine ever since. I haven't tried dragging it back upstairs and using the extension aerial cable---not pushing my luck---yet. Gloria xx |
