1. Dangle string down from bedroom 2. Tie string to cable 3. Go upstairs and pull string up into bedroom, making sure cable does not fall off 4. Gently pull string and grab hold of cable 5. Plug cable into set

Whats a clothes prop? I think my mum might have had one in the 60's but can't remember that far back.

Peter that made me giggle..... its the prop that holds the washing line up so the clothes don't drag on the floor! :O)

Brilliant Peter, thank you. I am usually good at things like this but just could not think how to do it. Why? Lol. Lounge and diningroom have been completley emptied for carpet fitting tomorrow. Tv is now in the hall. Telewest set top box and wireless router will have to come out also. So I can be on the internet while carpets are fitted I can put these in the bedroom. The cable is just long enough to come out of the lounge window and up into the bedroom. Then I can connect them all up. Jenny.

Jenny Just a thought, but make sure you protect it from the elements somehow!!! The last thing you want is rain trickling back down the cable and into the connections...... phoof no internet for a start !?!?! :O(

Karen we have wirless internet. But the main cable has to be attatched to both the set top box and the router. Which have to be out of the room tomorrow. So I intend bringing them into the bedroom, get the main cable which is quite long up into the bedroom via the windows. Anne the cable is quite thick and all insulated. But if it does rain i shall have to be internetless just to be on the safe side. jenny .

The fitters wont mind you being in one room (at one end), then when they get to the other end, you move? Have you got a laptop?

Just a thought. By the time we have sussed all this, the carpet will have been fitted and all can be back to normal. On the other hand, we could have the same rigmarole tomorrow bringing the cable back down. Jenny, take it son has not been home to help sort this?

Yes Donna I have a Laptop. Grace has the desk top now in her bedroom. Peter, Son as not been back yet, it has creased me helping hubby shift all the stuff. Sofas were the worst getting then in the garage. Mind you, dont think he would have been much help with the heavy stuff. He broke his wrist about 6 weeks ago and had to have a pin and bone graft. it is not healing properly either. Looks like he may have another op at the end of the month. Jenny.

Oh no. Just realised, the cable has got to be put under the carpet when it is fitted. It has been just lying on top across by the skirting board, since we moved TV into opposite corner. Oh well, looks like I will have to do some ironing to pass the time. Jenny.
