I'm not a huge fan of cooking - daily dinners etc are just a chore I could do without, but I do like baking cakes etc. I don't do it all that often as they go so quick - Husband is a gannet! lol I always make my own Christmas cake and try to get round to mine pies as well. Kaye x |

We cook now and then, mostly gingerbread men. The eldest recently ate the ratatue (?) she had helped cut up - veggies she would normally refuse - I've bought her a children's cookbook so she can decide what she will cook next. RW |

I make all our meals from scratch, with the sole exception of chicken kievs which I buy frozen. I bake once a month, flapjacks and suchlike for the kids lunchboxes. I try to make all our bread as well but it doesn't keep well so I keep a couple of loaves in the freezer. Liz x |

i have no choice but to bake at home as my little boy is dairy intolerant, and there's not much in the shops to buy. Luckily he loves my cooking! Tracy |

Hi June, yes, plenty of home cooking goes on this house - the smell of the leek, onion and garlic soup coming from my kitchen is wonderful - you can't buy that taste in a can! Don't make cakes etc so much these days since the kids have grown up but if I do they're gone in a flash. Always make my own Xmas cake though every year, hubby does the pudding. (well, you're not going to get me anywhere near one of those pressure cookers - they scare me) lol. Mince pies always get the 'extra' touch - about a qtr bottle of brandy goes into the jar to keep the mincemeat from going dry. :-)) |

We have a baking day every once in a while, my three daughters love it, as long as we bake something of their choice, and the other week my three year old little boy made some choclate crispies with me and although my kitchen was completely covered in rice krispies and choclate he enjoyed every minute of it.
