On your home page there is a link to the 1901 census and it is free, at the moment. Tricia

Hi Lindy. Have you got the decoder. You use the page ID sort and it should give you all the same people in the same household. Hope you can understand that. Wind has died down now so you should be OK LOL. Germaine x Oh yes forgot about it being free at the moment.

its not free at all! You have alsways been able to see if someone was listed on the census free, but if you want details of who else was in the house, you have to pay, and you still do!

Melanie, For the month of September only, if you accessed the 1901 through the Ancestry website, it was free to view the whole family but not the original image, as a promotion. I imagine that they're hoping for lots of new subscribers!

I agree with Melanie - I have tried to get details after making a search but I get the usual Join Ancestry stuff - goes to prove the old proven way of going direct to the 1901 site is the best. Now in the early hours I get message URL cannot be found on this server ! so I cant even search !!

The link on Genes didn't get you a free search, you had to go through the ancestry website to access the free facility.
