today on local news it was announced that in our local hospital in halifax there are signs up in the maternity wards that say 'what makes you think i want to be looked at'. people have been banned from standing over the cots to look at new borns, been banned from asking questions of new borns. hospital managers have stated 'it infringes a babys human rights' , i have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life, trust calderdale to be the first to introduce this no brain idea. perhaps we should stop mothers breast feeding in case babies grow up not liking cows milk, perhaps we shouldnt have eye contact with any child in case we give them a complex of being stared at, if i didnt know better i would have thought it was april fools day. someones head should roll over this one, we have messed up our kids enough over the yrs with the social experiments we have used on them. whats happened to common sense and sanity.

OMG I can't believe that this is what the world is coming to! Have all those babies in adverts given their written consent to appearing and the airing of those ads on TV? Julie xxx

Ive been racking my brain to try and work out where all this started in this country-after years of head scratching I think Ive finally sussed it............ PC=disease that is highly contageous after being brought over from america in the 1980's in the guise of Dr Spocks Guide To Childcare.Britain has never been the same since. It manifested itself in the early years amongst middle class modern parents(in inverted commas),who called their kids Jasper or Molly, and thus soon spread amongst middle management in companies, and places of health and education. These individuals once promoted enabled themselves in positions on councils and involvement with the new labour movement, once it had been sexed up and fashionable again to be socialist. Allied to this more positions of responsibility have fallen to women, due to changing employment trends, and less manufacturing. These new opportunities have led to the outlook of the woman being more vocal and in some cases almost total.Management positions in hospitals are predominantly female, and what was once the most considered voice (anglo saxon white male) is arguably the last voice now to be heard, despite its major proportion of the British electorate.

Luckily Dr.Spock is no longer looked to for guidance.... (whoever did???) so lets hope and pray that the next generation that arrive in power realise the mistakes of the 'past' and 'correct' them!!! This latest piece of madness just confirms for me why I was happy to leave the country I loved!!! (and still do). And I still like my coffee BLACK!!! Jacquie xxxxx
