Micheal / Don Yes, I am sure that is the amount. I do not owe them any 'old' debt but most bills are estimated because we cannot be at home during the week. Maybe I should just contact them and insist they read my meters on a Saturday. Thanks again for everyone's advice. Lynne |

Are you sure the metered amounts are correct? I have a pretty large house/5 bed/3 recept, and I pay Scottish Power (one of the lower ones) about £1000 a year! They undercharged me for 18 moths, so I'm currently paying about £130 a month, but only 'til November, then about £90. I've looked at the 'compare' web-sites and there's only about 30% difference between cheapest and dearest. If your £200 is for current useage, and not to pay off a past UNDERpayment, then something is wrong. |

Just remember - you don't have to pay the amount they demand you do by Direct Debit - only one I do not argue with is the Council Tax - all others I do. They can only take the amount you agree to - phone them and say No. I do - if there is a deficit at the end of the year then I pay it - but there rarely is - yet if I paid what they want I would be in credit by a huge amount. just sorted out a problem with my leccy bill from feb, my meter was broke and charging me at a higher rate, they finally sorted it this morning, and given me a new bill for less than they asked for. but in the next breath he says, your direct debit needs to go up to 99 a month to cover bills, I says, got letter yesterday from powergen saying they will review my d.d. payments in 6months time,he didnt like that and said oh o.k. then if youve received a letter. dont know if to change suppliers as I hear they are all upping their charges. |

Lyne - go to uSwitch(.)com. They can help you find the best supplier. Is the company called Seeboard (or something like that) by any chance? I recently switched to Southern Electric and am not happy - beginning to wonder if any of them are any good? Kaye x |

Lynne, If you Google 'Cheapest UK Energy suppliers', you'll get a list of several sites where you can compare prices. That should help you to choose. CB >|< |

Just had a letter from my supplier, Sainsbury's Energy -payments are going up from £101.50 to over £200 a month!! How the hell can they justify that? My husband and I both work full time so not as home a lot. When I changed to them just over a year ago, the total payment was about £40 something a month. Does anyone have a suggestion who to switch to please? Lynne |
