Thanks Tracey, so they wont take money from my Bank Account, only from my credit card if I specify it? I get1% cashback on my credit card plus it is insured against net fraud so dont want to use anything else. |

lol - a bit long winded! I think it's on about how you pay, once you've won an item. When you go to pay, you select where you want the money to come from. So you can choose either your card or account. Once you've pressed ok, though, you can't go back and change it. |

I have contacted them and got this reply - anyone understand it? Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your concerns. I am happy to assist you further. I am sorry but the only way to get verified and uplift your sending limit is providing bank info. On the final page in the Send Money process you can verify and confirm your payment information before it is sent. The following information can be viewed before you send your payment: 1. Payment Details This is the information about the member to whom you are sending payment, the PayPal member's user status, type of payment (Service, eBay Items, Auction Goods, Goods), amount of payment and the total of the payment being sent 2. Source of Funds This section states how the payment is being funded and the last four digits of the bank account or credit card being used to fund the payment. This section also includes a blue link titled 'More Funding Options'. · This link allows the PayPal member initiating the payment to choose a different funding method. PLEASE NOTE: If the payment details page is edited, the funding source will return to the default method of payment · Your credit card will only be available if your PayPal balance will not cover the entire payment · Please note that once a payment has been sent, it is not possible to alter the method of funding. You can view the funding method of payments sent by viewing the 'Transactions Details' page of the transaction 3. Delivery Information This section includes the address to which the PayPal member has chosen to send the purchase. |

I would be very wary of giving my bank details to anyone, but have not used Pay pal so don't really know the answer. |

All my transactions go through my card, and not my bank. I think that's only there like a backup, incase there aren't enough funds on the card. I think you get the option of which you want the default account to be. |

I think so. I can't really remember to be honest, as it was some while ago. I wasn't at all concerned about giving details to Paypal though - they are very reputable. So long as you are doing this through their site, and not via some email thath you've received. If at all concerned, login to www.paypal*com and read through their rules again, maybe even use their 'contact us' section (which I'm sur ethey must have) to mail them your doubts. |

I got mine verified when I first joined, so I don't know what happens after that. It doesn't hurt though. I haven't had any problems in the 3 years since I did it. |

So you have to tell them all your bank details Paul? |

I suspect so, yes. I got my account verified some time ago. |

Ive bought things on ebay for a few years now and Ive always used Pay Pal. Yesterday I successfully bid on an item for my son, went to click on pay now thru Pay pal but got a message that I had exceeded £500 limit since I joined so I had to get 'verified'. This involves giving all my bank details - what for? I mean they have happily paid and debited my credit card all this time, is it likely I am not a genuine bidder. Is this normal guys? |
