Dont buy the cheap bread flour, only use the good brand, or you will not get a good rise to your loaf! Maz x |

Tesco crusty white bread mix is one of the best, also set it on timer so that you get up to the smell of fresh baked bread. I live in France and each time in the uk I clear Tesco shelf !! Jill xx:) |

Hi Jo Wouldn't be without mine, although I've only made ordinary white and brown loaves so far (but seems like hundreds of them!). Lovely to see you back, Mandy :) xx |

Jo, Try using Allinson's flours and yeast - they give the best results in my machine. Sainsbury's at London Colney sell them. They do white, wholemeal and granary flours. For a really good, nutty textured 'granary' loaf, go to the working flour mill at Mill Green between Hatfield and WGC one Sunday. They sell the flour milled on the spot, so it's really fresh. Julian Graves sell the best selection of dried fruits, nuts and seeds, so you can make some really nice varieties of bread, once you get used to the machine. Now I know what to get you for your birthday - a bread recipe book! CB >|< X |

They are the best thing since slice bread lol. (sorry for the pun) We have one there is nothing nicer than setting the timer and waking to fresh bread being baked. Like others have said buy good quality Bread Mix. Because I live in Australia we have different makes to you. I get mine from a proper bread shop where they sell the machines and all the incidentals that go with bread making. You can also get the wooden guides to slice your bread. Plastic ones are useless. The best way to slice is with an Electric Knife. We prefer the crusty loaves. I also make dough in it for rolls but of course you have to bake them in the oven. Cheese bread is very nice too I also make raisin bread There should be a recipe book that came with your machine, most of them have. Enjoy Regards Jackie |

Thank you for all your tips. Actually I got the machine from e-bay, brand new and ever so cheap. I'm really looking forward to playing with it. Gaynor Bear says 'HI' Jo.X. |

I love my machine, make a loaf most days, but it took me a while to get a recipe that worked for me! Although I undersatand the messages about the flour, and I would have agreed about using expensive flour for a long time, but, I have discovered Lidl bread flour, about 49p for 1.5kg, for me it works really well, I've got a good recipe for Bara Brith if you need it! Have fun Suex |

Having tried all the popular and some of the supermarket brand flours, I felt Hovis was the best, then found Asda's own to be equally as good for a lesser price. I hope you didn't end up with an Hinari breadmaker though, you may be disappointed with the results!! Val |

I've got a Panasonic, only dodgy loaves were from some dodgy Hovis yeast, one sachet was OK but the other had an off smell, sad loaf was the result. Now use Tesco yeast but Hovis Super strong flour, also do part granary and Allinsons with 'kibbled bits' in. Always use the timer and wake up to that fresh bread smell. Ros |
