What about cycling? And put aside the money you would normally waste on cigarettes and buy some certificates or other treat. Janice |

Hi Nicky, as someone who has done hypnotherapy, Alan Carrs book, acupuncture, fake fags, herbal cigs, Nicotine chewing gum, you name it I tried it, year after year after year! I finally joined a group attached to my local hospital, and with the help of patches, KICKED it at long last! 4 years down the line, all is well... I thought the book was great, and you dont have to stop smoking until you finish the book! (take as long as you like!) good luck... BC XX |

I stopped with the help of patches but anything that helps you then use. Everyone is different. I think number one - you have to want to stop. Then use any method which you think will help. I'm surprised your GP didn't mention any local help groups. I thought most places ran them now. Jane |
