Hi, my computer has been set up with what I'm told is a US style keyboard, which means some of the keys aren't what they say they are, for example @ is on the ' key. What do I do to sort this out? Many thanks :))) |

Helen, in case it ever comes in handy you get the € (euro) sign to print by holdong down the Alt Gr key. This applies to any of the keys that have three characters showing. |

Hi Paul and Mike, thank-you for coming to my assistance. Paul, I did as you suggested - I think. When I got as far as 'keyboards' I wasn't offered 'language' but found that under its own icon. I then changed from US to UK and now have the letters 'EN' at the bottom right of my screen and @ and ' are still reversed!!! My pound sign comes up as # and I can't find it anywhere, I have a proper Euro key and 2 dollar keys! Think it might be time to get the manual out.... |

Try going to Control Panel, Regional and Language Options click on the language tab then click on details, you should then be able to see what keyboards are set up on your pc. You should have one English (United Kingdom) Any ones you don`t use you can delete, that way you should have no problem with the keyboard in future. Hope this helps Stu |

You need to make two changes:- Go into Control Panel, select Date, Time, Language & Regional Options, then select change format of numbers dates and times. Select Regional Options then select English (United Kingdom) Then Select Languages, click on Details, select Keyboard, United Kingdom, and click apply. |

Thank-you to all of you. Stu, it now seems to be working ok. Peter, many thanks for your help. On my computer I've had to click on English (extended), whatever that means, at the end of the procedure and, fingers crossed, all's well. Isn't it great that on a General Board like this, whatever the problem, there's always someone who can help! :)))) |
