On my 40th birthday my mother gave me a nativity set. I'd always wanted one and if my birthday was in December I could understand it, but it is in APRIL. |

Well she probably knew you always wanted one and thought you'd like it BEFORE Christmas so you could put it on display. One of the children I work with at school gave me some Guatemalan worry people - 5 little dolls in a draw-string bag that you put under your pillow. Tell them your worries at night and they will sort them out by morning. nell |

Christine They are handmade by Maya Indians. You could google - or you could make your own. Or you could have an imaginary worry person and tell him/her. nell |

I'll just mention a couple of things from Christmas just gone - otherwise I'd take up pages!! A handmade bag that we couldn't work out if it was a knitting bag(don't knit), a peg bag, or tea cosy!! Stiches already falling out when we got it. 3 - yes 3 - whiskey tumblers. Not in a box or anything so obviously bought at a jumble sale and the people had broken one already. a '99p when you buy fuel' kind of torch and to top if off nicely - a box of jacobs cream crackers - not a nice tin box type - just a packet of them!! we got them a golf club for him - about £150 and a regatta hiking jacket and other walking bits and bobs for her - their two passions in life. this of course is the in laws I speak of, who are by no means poor or just nicely off!! My Mum (bless her) is a bit of a penny pincher and we had a good laugh one Christmas when my Husband opened his present from her - I recognised it immediately, it was a bottle of horrible aftershave that my Step Father had been given the Christmas before! lol Another year she gave us two dog leads - thought they were pressies for the dogs, but no they were for us! We were pleased with them though. My Mother in Law gave all her kids and their partners the same - really bad perfume and aftershave. We think she got it from one of the shopping channels on tv - probably got it really cheap as a job lot. Would have been fine only they smelled disgusting - nobody kept theirs! Kaye x |

Christine - I have seen those little worry people somewhere. Have you tried Past Times or The Pier? I think it was in one of those? If I think of anywhere else I will let you know. Kaye x |
