One for the gentlemen: from Ogden Nash 1902-71 in 'A word to Husbands' To keep your marriage brimming With love in the loving cup, Whenever you're wrong, admit it, Whenever you're right, shut up and for the ladies from H. L. Mencken 1880 -1956 No matter how happily a woman may be married, it always pleases her to discover that there is a nice man who wishes she were not That should provide thought for today for you all. Hi Dee, Two quotes I like are Friedrich Nietzsche: It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages. Simone Signoret: Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years. It's our anniversary on Tuesday. Gwynne |
