I have just got in from preschool to be met by my husband with such awful news, I have checked that my family/friends are all ok and I truly hope all yours are too. GOD BLESS and give peace and comfort to all those who are suffering from today's barbarous act of cruelty, and may God give strength and courage to all those men/women who are out there just doing their jobs-saving lives and helping the injured. Kes, Even though I live in Queensland Australia, so far away from what has happened in London, my heart goes out to all of you, no matter where in the UK you live. I know how I felt with the Bali bombings and I didnt know anyone but it is that feeling of humanity that one has (or should have for all) I have family in London and throughout the UK. London is amazing! I've lost count of how many terrorist attacks that have happened in the 25 years that I've lived in London, but one thing is for sure, nothing and no one will break the London spirit. My husband, a train driver, went to work by bicycle - there being no trains and no trains to drive when he got there - but he was determined to get to work regardless. One of my regular customers has just turned up - she always comes in on Thursdays, and despite having to walk 4 miles to get here, still she turned up to buy her eggs as usual. That's Londoners! Life will go on and no terrorist group in the world will ever destroy the London spirit. Bev x |
