Woke up this morning feeling like I'd been hit by a train, then I'd wondered whether having walked 9 miles yesterday may have had something to do it, lol. Strong coffee hasn't worked the oracle, so think today will just be about surviving...

Yes, ma'am. Actually water was something I drank plenty of yesterday. I tend to drink quite a bit of water during the day anyway as I find it helps keep my weight in check.

Get some potasium into you: bananas, mushrooms, tomatos Don't know how it works but they are good for muscles and cramping. Deb

Andy, you may not feel like it, but I have found that a brisk walk helps, it's just making the effort to do it. Hope you feel better soon x Lesley

Andy..i am in full sympathy for you today as i have the same problem, lol I decided to walk to my parents and back yesterday, not sure of the distance, but it took and hour and a half each way. I was fine all the while i was walking, but within half an hour of getting home i was in need of my bed!! LOL I got up this morning wondering what the hell had hit me, and feeling at least twice my age, i am now wondering just what the heck i have let myself in for next year!! Guess it just means lots more walking until it stops hurting....!! I hope you are more with it soon :-) Yvette

Yvette, I did a 15 mile walk at the end of May with my brother, and we stopped off at the pub a couple of times (as you do, lol), which in hindsight was not a smart idea as you obviously stiffen up as soon as you sit down. All in all it made for an uncomfortable last leg of the journey though thankfully a lot of stiffness went the next day.

Andy, maybe we need to do a survey on this walking lark...a straight walk with no alcohol versus one with plenty lol ;-)

Yvette, lol. Actually I would be interested in what sort of walks everyone is doing at the moment. Whenever I'm not boozing with you lot, I do one long walk at the weekend. I'm not sure whether this is the best plan or whether I should be doing a few miles each day. Problem is I like long walks as I like being out for the day and that's what it'll be like when we're out in the Sahara.

Andy, Don't be fooled. You can't compare the climate in the Sahara with anything we experience here. If you're having trouble walking now, you need to get proper medical advice before you go to Morocco, otherwise you could end up with serious problems. CB >|< (not joking now)
