I have just read a very interesting article about the author H G Wells in the Daily Mail. It was of particular interest to me because he was born in Bromley; just down the road from here. When I finished, I promptly logged onto Ancestry and found him (and others in the piece) on all the census!! Sad, or what? Suzy

Hi Suzy, I'm in West Wickham, but on the Bromley side, off Pickhurst Lane. I know your area a bit as I help at the Bromley Youth Music Centre which is near Petts Wood. Also play in an amateur orchestra that rehearses at Poverest. Janice

A small world Janice. One of my best friends lives on Pickhurst Lane; her daughter goes to Pickhurst school. The BYMC is just down the road from my kids' school; St James' on Southborough Lane. Suzy :))

Yes I lived there until 1970. Dad is 91 this year and we visit him every two weeks (take turns with sis). I went to Bromley Grammar School for Girls in Nightingale Lane, Bromey.
