Not me Lorraine, but I admire the fact that you have posted the thread. As a one-time gambler of long ago, I can say that it is a major social evil, and anything we can do to help can only be welcomed. happy days

Hi Lorr, I used to be a betting shop manager for a north west company and also worked in a national company and would like to say that if anyone is concerned about a relative over doing it then if you write into the betting company with a brief history and photo then usually that person would be prevented from gambling there! Have just looked at this thread Lorr, and you are one gutsy lady to put it on! What a brilliant idea. In 1990 my then husband disappeared, and it was while he was missing that I found out that he'd been gambling. Won't go into details (too boring), but it's a dreadful addiction, and one that has far-reaching consequences for families of gamblers, too. He returned after a few days, by the way. Thank you for putting this thread up - glad G.R. let you do it. x

Graham worked me into the ground trying to pay his debts until I found out he was playing fruit machines.I contacted Gamblers Anonymous before tackling him. Eventually his problem was solved by hypnotherapy.I assume it was solved as I am not working myself into the ground to help him out any more so if he is gambling he is only hurting himself. I found Gamblers Anonymous in the telephone book. Having listened to the Archers when Alistair had the gambling problem it seems that all you have to do is redecorate your bedroom to solve everything!

Yes it is a huge problem it really is..... This particular site is where you can have counselling on-line as well as by e-mail or other methods. It is a wonderful place. There is a residential place where you can also go after you are assessed. Luv Lorr x x x
