I went to a Summer Fete yesterday and they did this: People pay a pound to write their name and mobile number down on a piece of paper. The paper goes into a bucket. Towards the end of the event a piece of paper is picked at random and the person on it rung. Whatever the digits of their number add up to (eg. 07746 873 643 = 55) they win in pounds and the rest goes towards the charity. If you get enough people you can make quite a bit of money plus the live 'ringing' of the winner can be quite exciting. love becx |

Bec, That sounds like a really good way to make money (as long as you get enough people to enter) and a bit of excitement for the people who have entered.. Debs x |

Debbie - I thought so.... I asked the lady doing it if I could have the numbers of all the attractive young men who'd entered but she looked a bit scared and hurried away! lol |

this sounds like a good idea (the phone thing, not the latter suggestion lol), BUT what happens if yuo don't make over £100 and the phone number adds up to £99 ? Also, some people might be a little reluctant to give out their phone numbers ? |

I think it is a good idea. Many people these days buying a raffle ticket prefer to put a mobile number on the stub rather than writing out their names & addresses. This just saves the bother of having them printed. You need to check whether you need a licence to run a raffle. Someone at Town Hall should be able to tell you. Jim Who's mobile numbers add up to 26. Damn those zeros and ones! |
