Now Gt Granddad & Gt Aunty They had different names Which kinda got me thinking Was their dad one and the same? I did ask my Gt aunty If she could shed some light But she wouldn’t talk to me And so began my plight I traced my Gt Gt granny Maybe she could give a clue To who her children’s father was It seemed the sensible thing to do So I looked at all the Census Birth, marriages and the like But it seems that gt gt granny Preferred the single life!! I checked though every paper Parish records & the Certs But nothing could determine A man responsible for the births And so they all stayed Rabbitts Least till gt gt granny got wed It was then that my gt aunty Took her mum’s married name instead! And so I solved the mystery Well done I hear you cry But it isn’t quite that simple And let me tell you why To this Genealogy game I think that I am hooked I can’t walk past a churchyard Without having to take a look I’m now searching ALL the Rabbitts And Parfitts and Fears and all If ever I get to finish this tree It will be 100 foot tall!
