40 miles and 90 to 100 minutes each way on a motorbike. I expect that will be beaten, though.

Hi My husband used to drive from Bracknell, Berkshire to Newport, Wales every day, on a good day it would take 2 hours each way, on a bad day - 3 to 4 hours, all depending on how big the accident he was stuck behind!!! He did this for 6 years!! He works from home now, so now knows what I get upto all day!! lol Tammy

My boss travels from Cardiff to Stockton on Tees. I don't even know how far that is, but it takes him half the day to travel. He arrives on a Monday and leaves on Thursday.

I dont know how people commute for hours and hours. We live in Norfolk and have had an influx of Londoners over the last five years. Its incredible how many of them have kept their jobs in London and do the commute every day! They must be driving 6 hours a day or 4 hours on the train. Blow that for a larf.

I suppose it's not commuting per se, but I have three flights and 500Km by road to get to work. Takes about 24 hours. I'm glad its only once a month. :o) Derek

While I only commuted 50 or so miles by train to London each day, I worked with two people who did the following: 1.) One of our managers took a 1st Class train from Bath to London each day, having a half hour drive to Bath first. 2.) One man ran from Clapham to central London, 8 miles. When the weather was inclement he cycled. He later moved to Kingston and ran from there, 10 miles. He usually got in before his girlfriend who took the train. David

My husband comes home from work huffing and puffing complaining of the traffic and the tedious journey - he's doing building work five doors up the road - bless him Lin
