Hi everyone. Just got an e-mail from (supposedly) Paypal@billing that they are adding new security to their site and they need your debit card # in order for your account to be more secure and if you don't they will cancell your account. I don't use paypal so I don't know how they got my e-mail addy. Take care if you get one from them. If unsure phone them and find out if this is really happening. I haven't been on the board for a while, so if this has been on another thread before, please forgive me. :-D Take care Neil |

I received one of those too, i do use paypal because i like to buy things on ebay. I immediately forwarded that email to Paypal, who replied to me that it was NOT from them, and they would be looking into. |

I had a different kind of email concerning paypal last night well 2. Seems some sort of chainletter going round you pay £3 to someone or something didn't read it all just deleted them. Though one seems to have come from someone that had used it and was saying it didn't work. I didn't forward it as a spoof but think I should warn everyone. Looks very much llike your average chain mail, send so much to the first on the list by such a itme you get so much back. Chain letters !!! go in the bin. Germaine x |

Yes I got the chain letter one too. I also got another one supposedly from the buyer of an item I had put on ebay asking if it could be mailed to London. Now I have had one like that before and nearly got caught. I have NEVER sold anything on ebay (though I buy) and on the last occasion I got one like this, first I emailed a reply saying sorry not me. BUt there was a link on there 'view this item' and curiosity overcame me as I wanted to see what I had supposedly sold. I clicked on the link for the item and got another page saying cant be displayed, click on this link and enter your ebay details!!! I NEARLY DID IT! |

anyone with any sense will just delete such emails someone like paypal will not ask for credit card details via email they would use the paypal site where it would be more secure. Never send credit card details via email email can be intercepted quite easily Paul |

Brenda, Don't be scared off paypay - it's as safe as any online service. Just ignore any emails that you get asking for your details, as they're fraudulant. But the site itself is fine. Paul |

Hi All Bugs - its just the emails that are bogus - not paypal itself. You will be fine if your paying via paypal on a proper site. I always use paypal to pay online for stuff. Paypal would send you a newsletter with proper info if it was changing anything. They wouldnt ask you to put any of your details in either. Vikki xx |
