Harry Report 18 May 2005 10:25

Can,t say I,m a fan of the lady and my hackles were raised by this mornings 'short lists for females only' and was wondering how much she had to do with the new? minister for women. Having second thoughts, if you partner had power would you be inclined to 'use' his influence to put some of your own ideas through? happy days

Perish the thought these women may have got the job on their own merits. It's obviously much more likely their appointments are a result of bossy pillow talk between PM and wife.

Wendy, thanks for the reply. Sure you are right - but would you do the same -(won,t say 'in her position 'as they are in bed.) happy days

Harry....a man with influence???? is there any such thing?? i thought there was a good/clever woman behind every man with so called 'power', lol Seriously, i haven't seen the report so can't comment, but i am not a huge fan of Cherie either. Come to think of it, is anyone? i don't recall reading a favourable report on her in many a month! Yvette

If my partner had power (which he hasn't) I would never use his power to help me do something, Harry, no. I do something because I can do it or I don't do it at all! :-) Joy

I wouldn't choose to be with someone so weak that he would allow me to make a mockery of his 'power'

Sure she hasnt got any say in the matter Harry, Tony whatever your views towards him is a strong character and will make his own mind up on appointments.! Equally I dont think Cherie would let Tony influence a trial she was judging in her capacity as a Judge. Dave

Off golfing now. thanks for the replies. my experience is that women are quite subtle. She will have worked out ways to influence him (in my opinion). Happy dayT

Are you that easily manipulated then, Harry? Not all men are unable to hang on to their principles.

Well I for one respect Cherie Blair for her intelligence and for the way she got on with life, especially when I think about the father she had. I cannot use the word FAN as it is short for fanatic but I will show respect for her achievements and as an intelligent woman. I dislike the way the Press and media treat her and most of the bad treatment she has had is because of her LOOKS!!! How low can you go? I have noticed some women are worse for this behaviour against other women then the men are??? Well they probably couldn't find enough nasty stuff about her. Agree with you Dave. Pat x

PS haven't read the article - I was only answering Harry's question. :-) Joy

Wendy, Perhaps when I said women are subtle, I meant devious or nagging. My good lady usually asks for about 6 things, then keeps reminding me ,as she knows she will get at least one of them. I respect Mrs Blair, even though I am not a fan of hers.

Would you like a shovel to dig that hole with Harry or are you happy to keep talking yourself into it ?
