Hi, My son has always been fairly good around the house but to deal with the piles of dirty washing I instituted a fine (when he was around 8). For every piece of dirty washing I had to put in the wash basket myself I docked 10p off his pocket money. He was 'cured' within a fortnight. Gwynne

Kylie, My younger son would never put his dirty clothes in the wash basket which was in the bathroom so I bought him his own for his bedroom. Room was still a tip but at least it wasn't smelly socks! LOL Also told him I didn't hoover carpets I couldn't see so it never got done till he went to uni!!!!!! Good luck - you'll need it Love Janice

My son still has to be told to clean his room and he's 19 although as he is older I have threatened to do it for him and watch and label all his videos for him, that usually does the trick. Julie xxx
