Are you starting yet? Do you notice that alcohol makes you worse?

Tony there is some chemical in alcohol that makes your hayfever worse. I went past a field of rape seed today. My nose was twitching violently.

I only suffer a little (wet cut grass), but my boyfriend suffers a lot, he hasn't started yet (touch wood).I'll let him know alcohol makes it worse, but he's gone off drinking at the moment. AL

Some doctors will give you an injection, but you need to have it in March. Its for grass pollon only.

I'm actually going to the docs on Tuesday because what started out as a cold/cough has been hanging around for 6 weeks. I do get hayfever but it's usually in June however I've a feeling the pollen has something to do with my problem as I'm not a smoker. Aileenx

I used to get it pretty bad when I was young, and injections had limited success, then in my 30th year I was prescribed Beconase. The results were phenominal! Do try it, if you have haven't already. It's available over the counter, but it's probably best to see the doctor first.

After spending a small fortune on all the leading brands of anti-hitamines which for me dont really work, i was recommended to buy Tesco own brand, at 89p (one a day, 12 in a box) guess what? they are much more effective.

Sainsbury's own brand is just as effective too...about the same price as Tesco's and do the same job as Zirtec ...

Luckily I don't seem to suffer (touch wood) but I read atip the other day - try rubbing Vaseline or similar just inside your nostrils - it stops the pollen going in.
