Chloe, I did the partial load of the index, only 17mb compared to 500mb. Supposedly means a slower search as you search from the disc. First time I tried to search it locked up, program not responding. In the end it locked up the whole computer and I had to reboot. Fortunatley everything seems OK. Disc now destroyed and in the bin. Will write to ABM publishing and complain. So other than that I can't say other than if you try it be careful and make sure all other programs are shut down. Ros

Thanks Ros. Will steer clear. The full name is Family Tree Magazine. Wasn't it the first family tree mag to come out? I'm not sure if they sell it at WHSmith, I've never seen it at the local one, I always go to a newsagents or read it at the library. Chloe

Thanks Ros, I tried to load it and it locked up and I have had no end of trouble with my Puter since then. I notice on the cover that they recommend we use an Anti-Virus scanner on it and they accept no responsibility for any problems caused. Must admit this is the first disk from them which has caused problems, but they have just changed the format (and presumably the Supplier). If you know a way to undo the harm I would appreciate it if you would share the knowledge. Jim

There are loads out there. Like I said in my previous post this one is called FAMILY TREE MAGAZINE, there are others like Practical Family History, or Your Family Tree. Not sure about sites, have a look in your local newsagents, or WHSmith.

I had a great result from a 1997 Family Tree Magazine I was looking at yesterday. Found the brother of my great aunts husband has signed the papers bringing to the end of the Dock Strike in 1889 You never know what you will find
