right, so picture the scene. Have had flu all week, so haven't had the best of times. Wife's going out tonight, so I think... nice quiet evening in, can stick a film of MY choice on and relax. What I forgot is that I'm on call (despite being ill !! there was noone else available to do it, so I stepped in), and I get a really tricky problem called through at 6.30... still working on it, haven't got a clue really, so drugged up (lemsip max strength lol) and head spinning... grrrrr

wish I had ! I'm much to responsible sadly. I've actually just managed to get hold of one of the other guys in my team, and hes going to have a look too, so thats a little of the pressure off

Bev, lol !! actually its possible theres a hardware error in a disk array, and the error comes up as 'powerfailed' so you might be on the right track lol

no, it means disk array says no lol (sometimes it means that the a disk has completely died (stopped spinning), sometimes it's just a momentary glitch)

had someone else look at it - he also decided that the system might need a reboot. can't do that tonight though, so am now waiting for a call tomorrow morning...
