HI, i read a thing in the paper a while back saying iPods aren't very good, they did an endurance test with it and if I remember correctly it broke with the first test, a bumpy landrover ride, so I'd get an MP3 player if I were u. AL |

Hi Kerry iPod every time!! we are biased being a mac household!! On a 2gb you can fit around 1000 songs, more expensive but worth it especially if you're away from home a long time, the new iPod shuffle is much cheaper but you can only fit about 100 songs on it. Hope this helps!! Sarah xxx |

Hi Kerry , my son has the Rio Karma MP3 player. It has come down in price since he bought it last year, I think it's under 200 pounds now. It's 20GB , the same as an i pod, but stores songs in more formats than i-pods and comes with accessories such as charging cradle, world plug adaptor, for use around the world, these would all cost extra with an i pod! He rates it better than an i pod, and apparently the battery lasts longer on one charge! BTW I know nothing about them, just asked my son all of this! LOL Christine |

Hiya Kerry I brought one last month from PC World for £30 - its called an I disgo life mp3 player, mines got a 128mb memory and holds about 60 singles. Argos catalogue has a good bit about the differences between various mp3 players and how many tracks to the amount of mb's the player has. From what I understand the player I have is better than an i pod as with an i Pod the tracks can still jump. You can also use it for transfering documents ie word documents from one pc to another. You dont have to download tracks off the net, if you have a media player on your pc you just save the cds onto your pc and then transfer them via the usb cable they provide onto your mp3 player, then when youve had enough of the tracks you transferred you delete them off your mp3 player and transfer more on. Hope this makes sense. Karen JUST UPDATED MY MSG AS MY MP3 PLAYER HOLDS JUST UNDER 60 TRACKS NOT 30 AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED - HAD A BLOND MOMENT :-) |

Hi Kerry, My 14 year old son has an I pod. It's an MP3 player. you can link it to your PC and load all your favourite songs from your CD's to your Ipod. You don't have to pay to download specially. You can buy other brands of MP3 player which are cheaper but don't hold as many songs, I think they're probably just as good ..... just don't have the same street cred among todays oh so needy teenagers !!! LOL XX Sioux |

Hi Kerry, I only know a bit about iPods but since nobody else is answering you at the moment I thought I would. You can download music to iPods from the web (via iTune stores usually) but there is a limit to the stuff available - it seems mostly to be very modern. I usually copy my own CDs to iTunes and then download onto my iPod. I like the iPod but I believe that it may be easier to get stuff from the web for other MP3s. I read something about one called a Rio or a similar name that was recommended. With any luck somebody who knows more will see this thread when it bounces back up to the top. Christina |

Sorry If I bore some of you with this.I`m off on my trip soon and I`d like to buy an iPod or MP3 Player, the reason being,I hate taking laods of CDs etc! Which is better? Do you have to pay to download the songs from the internet and have any of you got one or both? Just wanted opinons from people before I went out and brought one! Many Thanks! xxxx |
