Help Steamed up window

My double glazed window in my kitchen has steamed up. Will I have to replace it or is there a remedy to get rid of the condensation.. Been like it a few weeks now. Kept hoping it would clear up.

If it's a sealed unit then it's faulty and needs replacing. Is it under guarantee? Janice

yes its a sealed unit but how did the steam get in. Am i being silly here.

When it was sealed it wasn't completely dry inside so the water vapour is trapped and keeps condensing on the inside. Alternatively the seal could be faulty. Janice

Any idea of price its quite a big window

Margaret it is not as expensive as a double glazed window - it's only the unit needs replacing

Margaret When did you have the windows put in. When we had ours done there was a 10 year guarantee. Julie

Sorry Margaret, I haven't got the answer, only the same problem :o( Mine are on 2 windows at the (South facing) front of my house, one downstairs and the other directly above it upstairs (study and bedroom). On both windows it is the fixed central pane of three that is affected underneath the small opener. The windows are about 15 years old, but why are they the only ones affected when no others in the house are. Is it a coincidence that they are directly above each other? Also, with the new regulations about needing planning permission to put in new windows, does anyone know if this applies to replacing damaged windows as well? Sue xx
