Went to the tales of Robin Hood in Nottingham last week - £25 for a family of four to get in. Wookey hole in Somerset - £27 to get in. Was umming and ahhing about Legoland, Windsor -£24 each, then I discovered I could swap my tesco clubcard vouchers for an adult and childs ticket. Is it me or are these prices astronomical? I believe you can get in the natural history museum for free. louise ( very skint) |

Suppose it depends a bit how old you are, or how much you earn. Recently we,ve been to Blackpool pleasure beach , £28 for a day ticket. Cinema £.4.50; Pop corn£2.50. My grand-daughter pays £2.99 I believe for a tracy beaker comic. I still think a pound is a pound, but when you are paying staff five or six pounds an hour, you can perhaps understand some of the prices. happy days |

When our children were young we had an annual family ticket for English Heritage. This is not everyone's cup of tea I know but they had great fun grinding corn, watching Roman battles, seeing a re enactment of The Battle of Hastings and much more. |

I agree, when we move up here we thought great only 30 miles from alton towers but the prices are through the roof and out of your reach if you are on benefits, I also object to paying out ten pounds or so per person for an attraction and then finding that you are out the door having seen everything in two hours, for a tenner i expect at least 4 hours |

Cadbury World was pretty good value when we went there a few years ago.We took three children about eight years ago I think. It cost us £17 then and we came away with at least £10 worth of free chocolate and there is the factory shop there too. |

Louise, I agree but Wooky Hole is really good fun and I love it. We went again last year! Also Cheddar Gorge is good fun too, you get to see how cheese is made, taste it and look around caves etc! Good days out but can be expensive! |

this year our fair - PLeasureland - is charging £2 just to walk round. Not very good for parents & Grand parents who don't actually go on the rides. A lot of people will be staying away I think - but they say it's to keep the yobs out. I don't know how parents afford to take little ones anywhere nowadays. But it does remind me of a holiday I took my children on. As a single parent money was scarce so together with another friend - also a single parent we went for a chepa week to Skeggy in a caravan. When we got back, after spending up all the money it took all year to save, the kids said their favourite day out was a picnic in the park. Well could have done that for a lot less back home! Just shows they like the simple things in life n matter how much money we spend. Jane |

Hi Louise I buy all my day trip tickets through Tesco Clubcard Vouchers. They are a god send with 3 children. We paid £25 in TC vouchers for all of us to go to Alton Towers, had a really good day - it would have been £78 if we had paid cash. We have also been to Legoland, Drayton Manor, Cadbury's world and Amazon World (IoW) all with TC vouchers I couldn't afford it any other way!!! Tammy |

£20 per person in clubcard vouchers will buy a yearly pass for the taussauds group, Alton Towers, Chessington, thorpe Park, Warwick castle, madame tausauds ect. We did it 2 years ago and spent the summer doing theme parks, all for £80 for a family of 4. We took packed lunches & drinks & kept them in the coolbox of the car. All we bought was icecreams & other little bits. Elaine x |
