What a great day you've had. I bet you really enjoyed it though. Are you a volunteer? Louise

Sounds fantastic Emma. Enjoy that cuppa. Your just the person to answer my question (or one asked by my 3 year old today) What is a baby rabbit called? Sorry, i'm a bit thick and can't remember Sarah x

It was the first time i have been to help...... There are so many animals and it takes ages to clean them out. They had donkeys, foxes, swans, ducks, birds, rabbits, hedgehogs...the list goes on! I have had a wonderful day. It is in the middle of nowhere so its nice and peaceful.

Leveret is the word used for a hare under a year old. I have also seen this used for young rabbits (rabbits and hares are 'cousins'), although most dictionaries I've read define bunny as any young rabbit. So bunny is a perfectly good word to describe a baby rabbit, but leveret is good if you want to be tricky. Additional info: Originally, the word 'rabbit' was the word used to refer to the baby animals. An adult was called a 'cony.' Now the word rabbit is used for both adults and young. People who breed rabbits call males 'bucks' and females 'does,' the same words that are used for deer.

Just checked about kitten, it's the young of a cat, rabbit and various mammals. Hubby even suggested ferret. Louise

I've never heard leveret to describe a young rabbit. The word is a diminutive of the French word for hare - levre.
