Hi Kim No the Redheugh is open and shouldn't be a problem as you should miss the morning rush. Accommodation for students - there's loads. The Uni will have it's own contacts and there are lots of Letting and Estate Agencies. Last month my son put a reservation down for a flat not vacant until August and we found it on the Web. Landlords are looking now for students leaving July, Aug and Sept. So this time next year your son will probably have some idea which area he wants to be in and who he wants to share with. Then will be the time to start looking and I'm sure he'll have no problem finding what he wants. Newcastle is great - he'll love it ! Studying - what's that ? There are far too many other important things to do. !! Helen K |

Hi Helen We leaving Suffolk about 6 in the morning. We want to make sure we get there in plenty of time. We have an AA route planner and this is the info it has given us Branch left to join A184 (signposted Newcastle, Gateshead) Take right hand lane to join A189 then cross Redheugh Bridge. Keep forward (signposted City Centre) Is this the bridge you are on about? Kim |

Kim - where will you be coming from and at what time ? One of the main bridges is closed and causing big problems on the other bridges at certain times of day. Helen K |

Hi Pink and Wendy. The more l hear the better l feel. I THINK He will not have time to party, too much studying to do (or is that the other way round?) He will be living on uni grounds for first year, then has to find his own place. Any tips on which landlords to use and not to use? Or do they find lists inside uni for places to rent. Kim |

Hi can anyone help please. l'm taking my son to Newcastle upon Tyne university on Wednesday for a visit and would like to know if there is parking inside the uni grounds or where is the nearest and cheapest place to park. And most importantly Jay would like to know what the night life is like. Thanks Kim |
