I want to go on a gap year thing, China is one of the places on my list. Unfortunately the person I am supposed to be going with, I haven't heard from in a while... anyway I was wondering, if I fly to Shanghai, how far is the Great Wall from here? Easily accessible? What other sites are worth going to see in China? Chloe

Chloe My daughter flew to Shanghai in January for a holiday. Whilst there she got the overnight train to Bejing, cost approx £30 first class, where she visited The Great Wall. A couple of years ago she took a travelbag tour which lasted 3 weeks from Hong Kong to Bejing. She made some good friends on that trip as she was travelling on her own. Win
