Val I think if the bride's mum is wearing a hat it will look a bit odd if you don't - especially if everyone else in the photo is. But I never wear hats and feel very odd with one on, so I do understand. I forbade my future mother-in-law from wearing one at our wedding! Oh and I bought my frock about 4 days before the event. Plenty of time left to panic! nell

Have you got a hat hire business near you? A friend of mine has one and it works really well. Lots of advice and you're not stuck with a hat you'll never wear again! Daisy

Val, If you dont feel confident in a hat, dont wear one, you could always put a flower in your hair. Its very important though that you feel confident so do what you are comfortable with, after all its the bride everyone will be looking at. Have a great time June xx

For 4 weddings now, I have hired a hat from Felicity Hat hire, they also do little ones. Go and give them a try. Val
