my son is 14 and has his moody moments where he only mumbles or grunts at you, sometimes shouts but mostly i can just tell him off or hes grounded from footy and it works , he knows i wont stick to grounding him, he also mostly comes up to me and hugs or kisses me, however today he popped into my work place to collect something and was with friends , i jokingly asked where my kiss was as he left, he just looked back and smiled, in his gruff voice 'your not getting one', thats his im trying to be tough voice |

I must have been very lucky - my son was never really one of these grotty teenagers- we had disagreements - but so does everyone. He is 25 now and I have the greatest of respect for him - he is a wonderful man and a terrific father - we are thousands of miles apart but that is nothing - we are still as close and always will be. He is a member of the site, so David - if you read this - UG. |

Once upon a time there was this angelic, flaxenhaired boy. He really loved his Mum. Then, very quickly, he changed into a spotty, surly teenager. He HATED his Mum! He was always in trouble, always courting danger. His poor Mum lay awake each night wondering what went wrong. Then, just a few weeks ago, his Mum looked at this man (her son) and as if by magic, he had turned into a loving, kind, funny, sweet-natured human being. He had grown up. And now he really REALLY loves his Mum and he even likes her! He has also met a wonderful girl, which might have a lot to do with it! |
