anybody got any words they use quite often that has to be explained to someone not from yoour area?? i use the word 'hoon' a lot which is a shortened version of hooligan

scailybacks or codheads= people from redcar/whitby etc and they call us slagbacks or smoggies. Slagbacks refers to the iron industry around teesside

I say 'pack up your goods and chattels' which means 'get your stuff together' when we are leaving somewhere. Got it off me gran who is from Chelsea, but my hubby looked at me gone out the first time I said it. Also, I look like the 'wreck of the Espera' which I think is self explanatory! :o) Claire xx
