Hi CB I used to teach ballroom dancing before the days of line dancing. A few years ago when line dancing first came to this country, we were on holiday and made friends with a dance teacher and his new partner, who couldn't dance. The hotel asked if he would be prepared to teach a couple of line dances to the holidaymakers and as he hadn't got a partner, he took me into a seperate room and taught me a couple so that I could partner him. A couple of years later I went to line dancing classes for a drama group play. I still prefer ballroom though. Chrissie x |

yes we certainly have fun spend most of the time laughing at ourselves specially if we end up facing each other rather than behind each other! have pursuaded our dance teacher not to teach new ones after 10 as the old brain cells cant cope!!! |

I have been line dancing for about 9yrs. Its great fun. Tonight we are going to entertain some residents at a local residential home. They love watching us dance. So they are happy and we are happy. YOu cant ask for more than that. Jane |

I have been Linedancing for 10 years in W.A. won a gold medal in the state competition silver in the duo and then a gold medal in the national comps. I am not competing anymore as I think it takes the fun out of it, although I enjoy watching the young ones. Lorraine in W.A. |

I line dance occasionally, but not on a regular basis. Old Time/sequence is more my style with some ballroom & Latin thrown in, go twice a week. Val |

You're so right Dilys, you also have to wear the right shoes or your feet stick to the floor and you can't make the turns fast enough. But its great fun-Rose |
