I never understand why dogs get catrated to stop them biting. if someone did that to me i'd be even more inclined to bite them than before!! lol!

Ken, If you think your dog is lonely, have you tried leaving the radio on a 'talk' station while you're out. It might comfort the dog to hear human voices. CB >|<

By the way, two really good books were The Dog Listener - Jan Fennell Don't shoot the dog - Karen Pryor I would highly recommend both of them, especially the first.

We tried tibasco sauce. He really liked it! They will grow out it in in a few months. Until then... I think we just lived with it and repaired the damage afterwards. Our dog sleeps in the kitchen and he used to claw and chew the walls even! Fantastic dog though. Wouldn't swap him for anything/anyone.

Yes our dog loves our company, sits on our lap and even squeezes in between me and my partner, she absolutely adores my partner, must admit i do get abit jealous of the dog sometimes, and my partner is the one who wasn t keen on us getting a dog but now shes 'his girl' and doesn t she know it, have thought about taking her out in the car with me but I m worried she may rip the seats and I drive an expensive car so not keen, my old jack russell from years ago who i had for 12 years I could take around in the car and she was fine but I shouldn t compare them.

Have you tried leaving something of yours, with your scent on eg an old gardigan or jumper tied into a ball its a comfort to a dog having your smell, like a comfort blanket for a child. It worked when or dogs were small puppies, yours is still a puppy at one. Pat.

Well she only seems to do it when i go to work or is left alone, could be anxiety, I m not gone for that long, sometimes I m back after an hour or two depending on where I m working, I always pop in in between jobs, but any advice I d welcome, and yes, she is cute, she s all white with brown patches on her head and she has a brown nose.

I think she would bark and whine, we used to have her in a crate when training her, but I ll bear that in mind as we still have it. Thanks, Penny

To all you dog lovers out there can you give me some advice, our jack russell will be one years old next month and this past few months since my hours have increased(usually pop home in between jobs so only left for 2 hours at most) and she s being left at home alone she has started chewing things, I know its probably because she s lonely but we ve bought her toys, yummy bones etc she will chew on the legs of chairs, carpet and has ripped her bed apart, she s fine when were here, any advice greatly appreciated.
