We have been invited to hubby's Nan's 80th birthday party in a couple of weeks. I do not have a clue what to get her - I have only met her a handful of times. I do not want to spend a fortune as she never buys us or our kids (who are her only great-grandkids) birthday or Christmas presents, whilst I know she lavishes money and gifts on her other grandkids. I know that sounds petty but that is how I feel. Any ideas anyone? Liz x |

A nicely filled in family tree chart? Then she can put you straight by remembering a few siblings, illegitimate children, black sheep who never returned home, bigamous marriages, etc. nell |

Get her some Lush bath stuff. You'll feel so good after being in the shop and it isn't dreadfully expensive, and you can buy something for yourself while you are there... And she will smell nice even if she isn't! Abigail |

Nice idea Helen, but she fell out with her family in the 1970s due to a dispute over her parents' will, and hasn't spoken to them since. I am not sure it would go down very well, although I do have a fair bit of info... Liz xx |
