I was just wondering if the pictures we hang on our walls reflect our star signs? For instance, earth signs would have landscapes and water signs would have seascapes etc. What is your sign and what pictures do you prefer?

Heather, I think you're right. I've been an astrologer for the past 40 years - Scorpio Sun (water) and Leo Ascendant (Fire). My favourite paintings are Monet's waterlilies and van Gogh's Sunflowers - both appear on the walls of my sunny yellow bedroom (I'm more Leo than Scorpio). My son, Pisces Sun (water) and Virgo Ascendant (Earth) based part of his A-level Art submission on depictions of star signs in various media, and he now works as an architectural modelmaker - Saturn, the builder, in Virgo - attention to detail, and Piscean imagination and artistry to the fore in the finished product. He has pictures of his work in his green & white bedroom. My husband, Sagittarius Sun (Fire & sporty) and Taurus Ascendant (Earth) would have pictures of footballers on the pitch on the walls, if I let him! I let him pick the colour of decor for our living room - he chose Saggy purple! LoL CB >|<

Limara and Christine......my son with sun in Capricorn has a landscape painting with a sunset......he has the moon in Sagittarius. Louise...now I'm wondering how much our moon and ascendant signs are reflected, lol. The dancing picture is on a beach and the lady who has it has moon in scorpio and ascendant in pisces. CB.....I've been reading simple asrology books for years, don't pretend to understand half of it but it's veryinteresting.

I'm a Pisces female (15/3) who has pictures of narrow boats on canals, steam trains, country cottages (Helen Allingham), women/men/landscapes (Gustav Klimt...fav artist but anything vaguely Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts) and The Rainbow Fish! What does that say about me? Viv

Am I breaking the rules then? A Leo with a Virgo rising and have pictures of beach-scapes with NO people in them!!

Deanna

Deanna Report 15 Feb 2005 12:34

I'm Aries, and I love Van Goghs' Starry nights I have 2 of them. Deanna

Thanks for the replies everyone Viv....well, some of them are watery, lol. The Allingham ones, are they thatched cottages?? I'm thinking nostalgia, not sure if that's a piscean thing. Diana.....I read that as seascape and couldn't see any connection, now I see it is beachscape so thinking Virgo= earth and Leo=sun/fire heat.....hottest earth = desert = sand = beach. lol Starry sky.........hmmmmm thinking about that one. I'm a Double Gemini and as long as I have lots of lightness around me I am happy. I am looking around me and opposite is a large picture of a Unicorn, another one is of a red haired woman looking at her double and screaming! Then a lovely picture of an old hotel in Venice. And then a gold mask also from Venice. I have five signs in Gemini and rising sign is Virgo. xxx

Buttercup, You're very Mercurial - changeable and love variety - that's how I'd interpret what you've said. Deanna, Your sunsign may be Aries, but each of the other 11 signs appear in your chart, and all the planets and luminaries are in there too. They can ALL make a significant difference. CB >|<

Heather Report 15 Feb 2005 18:22

Hi Buttercup....the woman looking at her double sounds like a Gemini thing doesn't it? Screaming???? Well, I suppose it's one way of communicating, lol. The unicorn......others with gemini seem to have animals that move quickly? You seem to know about astrology so if you have any ideas about the other replies I hope you'll add something. Heather CB.....glad to see you there, I'm sure you understand it much better than I do, lol. Is Pisces nostalgic??

Heather, Nostalgia is more of a Cancerian characteristic, but the sign of Cancer or the Moon, its 'Ruler', can appear anywhere in someone's chart. Cancer tends towards moodiness, as the Moon aspects the various planets and significant points in a chart. Pisces tends more towards daydreams, diffusion of thought, lack of concentration, fluidity and changeability in a gently 'flowing' sense, as opposed to the changeability of Gemini, which is a rapid turnover. The thing to bear in mind also is that the birth chart progresses, so that, in my own case, I was born when the Sun was in Scorpio, but by progression, it is now in Capricorn. All the planets and the House Cusps progress too. If you have an ephemeris with your birthdate in it, count down one day of the month for each year of your life, and you will come to the 'picture' which is affecting you now. You never lose your basic characteristics, as shown in the Birth Chart, but the progressed chart 'overlays' and influences it, as do the daily planetary transits when a transiting planet aspects something in the Birth Chart or the Progressed Chart. Astrology is far more complex than popular publications lead people to believe. If you want to learn more, check out the Astrodienst website. CB >|<

Hi CB Not sure if my ideas are correct about sun signs and art. It seems we have to take the other planets into consideration too. Interesting though!!!! Heather
