Hi all I went to my 4xg Grandparents home villiage yesterday to visit the parish church and photograph gravestones to try and solve a few links. Once I entered the village (getting towards the church) I had an overwhelming feeling of being comfortable and taht being there was 'right' which I found very strange and wondered anyone else has had the same experience? Maybe we still have the last vestiges (sp?) of a genetic memory? Regards Stuart Woodcock |

Oh yes, definitely, when I visited the churches in Little Glemham, Marlesford, Eyke and Bromeswell in Suffolk, and Madron and Gulval in Cornwall. I know that feeling very well. :) Joy |

About 2 years ago, for the first time, I visited the Herefordshire village, where I've tracked ancestors back to 1770s so far. It was a farming area and still is, and I could picture them all working on the land and felt that they would have recognised the view I was seeing. Although some of the later generations left to work in the mines of South Wales, I felt this was the 'home' village. I understand exactly how you felt. |
