Did you have a thread about County Mayo on the tips board? I remember replying to someone on there. My great-grandparents were married in the Presbyterian Church, Turlough, Castlebar, County Mayo. Have you looked on cyndislist(.)com, GENUKI, and the rootsweb message boards for the county and surname? Joy

Look for rootsweb(.)com [delete brackets) - click on Mailing Lists. Scroll down and you will see Surnames - which you can explore and see if there is one for yours. USA International - in here, click on Ireland. There are a few for Mayo. If you click on the IRL-MAYO, you will then see how to subscribe to it. I always subscribe to the digest form (which means you will receive several emails within one) otherwise we'd have hundreds arriving!! Do have a go, because not only, once you have subscribed, can you post information about your family, but you will also see postings from other people. Joy PS it is free.

You're welcome. Just checked - there's also mailing lists for your surnames, too. Then you can look at the message boards. You'll be sooooooo busy!! :) Joy

Hi Alison. I am ploughing through my Irish relatives (my father had eight brothers!) so I know how you feel. The National Library in Dublin is fantastic and the staff are really helpful. It is free to search (that is if you go personally) and they have all kinds of amazing records. But leave plenty of time The best of luck.
