A lot of bees are dying because the have come out to play too early - the warm weather we have been having has fooled them into thinking spring is here. As a result, there are no flowers/pollen for them to feed on and so they are starving. Whole hives are being wiped out and now honey producers fear there will be a shortage of honey this year. If i remember rightly - i think the RSPB site is asking people to report their first sightings of ladybirds etc.

We had bees still about here in Herts in January but not now. I was surprised to find a ladybird landing in my bath last week. Managed to fish it out and put it on a tissue to dry, then put it out of the window. Poor thing's probably frozen by now. The blackbirds are fighting over territory again in the garden, and next-door's cat is busy trampling the snowdrops, primroses and crocuses as it chases after them. Pesky creature! The lawn badly needs cutting after all that rain! CB >|<

The Dorset lanes are beautiful at the moment ,hedgerows full of snowdrops and now the daffodils are coming out.It is lovely to be able to enjoy it all before the first visitors arrive and fill our roads up at 30,dipping to 25 mph.as they admire the views.I shall be going out for a drive shortly to enjoy a beautiful day.- Rose

Oh you lucky peeps! Got four feet of snow - and got some more tonight! Anyone want some? Won't see green until May - and then we'll have some heavy wet snow and summer. Spring never seems to sprung over here.
