Has anyone been to Las Vegas for a holiday, and how long did you stay and what time of the year can you recommend. We are wanting to go this year but friends we are going with want oto go at the end of May and I'm wondering if it will be too hot!!!

Hi Ann I've been quite a few times (I used to live over in the States) and totally love it! End of May should be okay. It's usually fairly hot at that time, but when my parents went last year at end of May it was unusually cool. Definitely avoid July/August unless you want to get fried! I went once in July and it was unbearable. I'm taking my hubby back there for our 10th wedding anniversary in 2007. I'm actually going to be there for one night this summer as I journey to visit my friends in Utah. Let me know if you have any other questions. Joanne

Was there two years ago (part of a tour) in October, and it was very hot indeed, probably around 100 degrees. It's somewhere I've been, and two days was enough, but certainly wouldn't rush back to. Some of the hotels are worth seeing - Bellagio, Luxor, Mandalay Bay etc., they all have gambling halls and once you've seen one you've seen them all . . . . sorry, just my personal view.

I went in October. Enjoyed it, but be careful as it is easy to get carried away and end up potless with days still to go! We went to Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon while we were there and it was VERY hot. It is a fab place, something to see at every turn, but larger than life and completely geared to gambling - the first thing you see when you get off the plane is a row of slots!! Maz. XX

son and his wife went last Sept. for a week. Stayed at Bellagio which was wonderful. Don't miss helicopter trip to Grand Canyon. BUT he said 1 week was enough.
