How do you wake up in the mornings?

Just a daft thread, but are you someone who jumps out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off, or do you need to awake gradually from your slumber? What I have to do is set 2 or sometimes 3 alarms at different times - 1 at 6am, 1 at 6.30 etc, in order to try and wake up gradually. I made the mistake once of just setting the alarm on my mobile phone. When it went off, I meant to reset it to wake up me again half an hour later but promptly fell asleep once more and woke up later with the mobile still in my hand!

I'm not allowed to sleep on the side of the bed by the alarm as when it goes off,I throw it across the room before I am properly awake - Aparently I start talking before my eyes are even open and talk complete garbage-so what's new!..I have been known to get up and begin walking down stairs before properly awake and fell down the stairs twenty years ago.I woke up in a heap at the bottom of the staircase with a badly smashed elbow. Everyone calls out ''Hi Mum are you awake'' before I can do the same again.Maybe we should live in a bungalow-LOL Rose

It depends where I am going or what I am doing. If I have to get up - even if that means 3am to go on holiday or something - Before I go to sleep I just tell myself that is the time I have to get up - and I wake up at that time. I set the alarm if I am really tired and have to get up early - even then I usually wake up just before it goes off. I was chatting to David from Notting Hill on Saturday - and we have decided that we are both 'Stone Age' people - up with the sun! LOL - In the summer I can be out working in the garden at 5am - in the winter I hibernate and stay in bed! - He's the same. Magsxx

When I am at work I set the alarm for 6, and get up then, go into shower, then put kettle on for me and hubby who gets up at 6.30, if I don't get up straight away I lose my slot for the shower.....:)) Bev

I really resent getting up in the morning during the winter and hang on to my duvet until the last possible minute and have over the last year or two developed the magical talent of never hearing the alarm on hubbys side of the bed,....unless i have to be somewhere important and then i am awake long before i need to be and up and movingor one of the children are ill...then i hear every little thing. In the summer months i am completely different, i am awake and up long before anyone else and ready to face the day and all it brings.......drives my hubby mad as he still hasn't got used to the 'two different wives' he has lol Yvette

I can't remember when we last set an alarm. We just wake in the mornings, - about 5am ish on weekdays and both get up within 10 minutes or so. I hate being woken, when I'm not ready to get up, but like Mags, we just seem to be able to wake, when we want to.

Good Morning All I did have real problems waking up in the morning, I'm not too bad now - my big sister sorted me out! My sister came up with a plan to telephone me at 7am every morning to wake me up, and again 5 mins afterwards to make certain I was up. It worked for the first 3 days, but on the fourth day I picked up the phone to hear her say 'You awake, are you up, good cause I have something to tell you' Outcome: I fell asleep listening to her voice and she suffered listening to me snoring for about 10 mins before I woke up to her screaming WAKE UP YOU......................... I had to apologise Big Time Tilda:-))) LOL

The alarm goes off at 6.45 and I drag myself out of bed and wake up the others, then I stick the kettle on (I can't function without a cuppa!) while Dean does out for a fag. I take him a drink out then make lunches. Dean goes to work about 7.20 and me and Ellie have some brekkie then it's off about 8am. I hate mornings (mon-fri anyway!). Jack x

It's the only way Andy. I just cannot stay in bed! Although I might make an exception for George Clooney or Clive Owen! Daisy
