Does anybody know which is the best type of external hard drive to use with a laptop to back up data. My son's laptop a toshiba has gone through six hard drives in thirteen months loosing every thing each time. Toshiba have now replaced it with a much better laptop but we don't want to take any more chances. Brian

Brian, if it's as good as it sounds it should be fitted with a CD / DVD writer I'd suggest backing everything up to disc that way he's always got a hard copy to fall back on. Sioux
