Must be an Anne thing, Ann!!!! My PC lost Msn and the internet yesterday...got it back now but am getting messages from all over the place and do not understand all the security jargon...my grandson does that for me. Still have the ' 2 little TV's' with a red cross on them. It says that the local area connection has a network cable unplugged!!! My PC has everything in the right place...nothing loose...so what happens now???? Am a complete PC idiot!!!!!! LOL Anne. |

I got the mesage saying that if I didn't update I couldn't use Messenger. I wasn't ready to go through it all at the moment so I clicked the 'no' box. My Messenger has signed itself on anyway !!! I didn't even touch it. Joan x |

The security warning is just Norton doing its job. It should be alright to OK it if you trust messenger, that is what it is saying. It will often come up when you load something new. My messenger signs itself on too, we can't stop it, I just right click on the symbol and sign out each time as I don't often use messenger. Ann Glos |

Hi all, If you don't want Messenger to automatically sign in, try (in the Messenger window) clicking tools, then options, then general. There you will find a box to UNCHECK if you don't want Messenger to automatically run. Having unchecked the box, click 'Apply' and then 'OK' at the bottom of the window. Is it the new BETA version of MSN you are trying to download? I don't think you should have a problem with it...I installed it sucessfully a couple of weeks ago. It has a new 'winks' and 'nudge' facility.....great fun! Good luck Dee x |

Thanks everyone - only checked emails yesterday and looked at this site for short time. Son will be here Tuesday evening - will leave it to him. Norton updates regularly and updated earlier today when I was on. Warnings like this throw me in a panic! Ann |
