Just wondering if anyone has done what I once did. I found a whole family of people with my husband's surname. Because the head of the household had my father-in-law's christian name I assumed that I had found my husband's great great grandparents plus aunties and uncles. There were common christian names and all were born in the same area. I sent for hubbie's great grandfather's marriage certificate and guess what? His father wasn't the person I had thought. Obviously the family I had researched are still family members, but not sure where they fit in. Luckily, I have found the family I should have looked for in the first place. That will teach me to assume!! Sue. |

Sue, I've done that too. I was so proud of myself when I first found this family. Everything seemed to tie in and a couple of months later thought I better send for a birth certificate just to make sure an blow me down mother's Christian Names didn't match with mine. Sorted it out in the end but I learnt my lesson. Jean x. |
